Book Summary (Per Goodreads)
He’s been burnt by love.

Griff Hawkins keeps his pain locked away and the ghosts of his past buried even deeper. Three years ago, he chose the Storm MC as his family and accepted the ways of their violent world. These days, he lives his life with one rule – don’t get attached to anyone but his club.

She longs to be loved.

Sophia Barnes aches to know real love, and lives her life with arms wide open, ready to embrace the possibilities that come her way.

When Griff’s past is exposed and his place in the club is jeopardised, he fights for his family the only way he knows how, regardless of the consequences. That is, until he meets the woman who brings him to his knees, giving him something to lose.

Can they teach each other to leave the sins of the past behind or will Griff's demons dictate their future?

My Thoughts
Sassy Christmas set up the beginning of this book perfectly.  Griff has been in the other books as a strong but silent somewhat secondary character.  His story though blew me away and made me look at each of the previous stories a bit differently!

Sophia reminds me of the girl next door, goody goody girl that we initially saw with Harlow. Griff, well boy does he have a secret. I can see why/how people reacted the way they did initially.  Yowza...talk about an awkward moment when that secret came out.  In terms of hot scenes, intimate moments, intense topics and character development, NL is a master!  She has created this world where it does not seem out of place that these men are so take charge, that violence is the expected reaction to certain behaviors and that the loyalty and brotherhood is that strong.  Once again she incorporates a new but heavy topic that Sophia and Griff both have had to overcome.  I love the relationship that Griff and Sophia are building in this story and I adore his aunt and how she adopts those around her!  Everyone needs a relative like her.

Griff and Sophia are not my favorite Storm MC couple (hello Blade and Layla), but I enjoyed this story and the way their relationship and background built an even more detailed world for the Storm MC.
