Book Summary (Per Goodreads)
My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

My Thoughts
I LOVE this book. LOVE.  I started it last night and thought I would read a chapter or two.  Several hours later I am sitting up in bed, mouth open, just amazed at what I am reading, feeling, experiencing and more.  Each situation, emotion, location and individual are beautifully described and developed.  I have never been in an air lock or Hawaii, but the imagery made me feel as though I was right there with Maddy.  From IM messaging, the constant need for neither to have the other one's pity, the way they brought hope into their daily lives, the unique skill sets they both had I thought this book was genius.

While reading the book I got to experience more artistic goodness because of the perfectly placed illustrations.  I do believe I would love to meet a personality like Maddy's because her illustrations represent what so many of us focus on internally while we wait, plan an event, hope for an action, etc. Additionally, she is funny.  Sarcastic at times, but mainly funny in an adorable and friendly way.  However, I do believe my favorite character is actually not Maddy or Olly (though I am obsessed with their relationship and antics).  No, my favorite character is Carla.  Her love, emotions, clear cut talk about relationships and life..I adore her.  When Maddy sees Carla outside of work...oh the tears and oh a beautiful moment and scene.

Lastly, I loved all the details in this book.  From the title, the cover art, the quotation at the book, the book spoilers (hilarious), the clothing everyone wears, the chapter titles ("Future Perfect") and more everything works to create this wonderful story of illness, hope, love, laughter, anger, growth and change.  I cannot wait to see what else this author creates, what characters she brings to live, what situations we get to experience and what emotions we encounter!
