Support a Cause

"I believe in the spirit of sharing and I believe we are what we are because of those around us."
"I am what I am because of other people and they are what they are because of me being around."
"One hand cannot clap on its own but it needs the other hand to make a clap." "Many hands make light work."
~ Maasai tribal sayings

Compassion International: A wonderful organization that is ran well and makes a difference globally.  I supported a child all through undergrad, graduate, work and part of law school.  I had to stop this year while I search for a job, but I can't wait to return as a child's sponsor when I do get a job and my first paycheck.

Miracle Babies: There are so many organizations that help children and they all need assistance, but this year I have been impressed with this organization especially as I have had several friends in need of the type of services that miracle babies advocates and supports.

The Full Belly Project: A non-profit out of Wilmington, NC where they are working towards designing and implementing different agricultural designs that can make positive impacts in rural areas.

LoveGrows: A non-profit that helps orphans in Africa find sponsors for their education, health and other self-sufficiency needs.  Currently they have three projects in the works for these children: a well, a music program and a solar program.

Free Rice: A game that gives back...yes a GAME..and it also educates you as you play.  Talk about a three time winner.  This online game is free to play and each correct answer gives 10 grains of rice (through the World Food Programme) to help end hunger.

NC Transportation Museum: I am from a small town and here I am blessed to have grown up a few blocks from this wonderful and educational resource.  From the exhibits, to the train rides, to the events to the movies filmed on location this museum is always looking for ways to bring information and entertainment to others.

I can't just put one down, but there are so many animal organizations that need assistance.  There are some based solely on a type of animal or a cause for all animals.

"You are not here merely to make a living.  You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement.  You are here to enrich the world, and to impoverish yourself if you forget the errand."~ Woodrow Wilson
